Third Annual Kick Out Cancer Event

U-Turn Sports Performance Academy and the Greater Richmond Futsal League have teamed up with Connor’s Heroes to host the 2009 Regional Futsal Tournament on December 18-19. This tournament will lead up to the National Tournament held in Kansas City in February 2010.

Seven Pines Trot for Tots

On December 18, 2009, children in grades k-5 at Seven Pines Elementary School will "run" in the annual Trot for Tots. Each student will trot around the school grounds and drop a wrapped gift into three huge boxes. Last year, over 500 toys were collected to benefit Connor's Heroes. Will they top their record this year?

Room of Possibilities Open House

Connor’s Heroes presents a Room of Possibilities on the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at the VCU Massey Cancer Center. The room was created in order to provide a comforting and healing room for bone marrow transplant (BMT) patients and families. Before Connor’s Heroes created the Room of Possibilities, patients and families were limited to the patient’s room for visiting and passing time. This new room offers a desktop and laptop computer, large screen television and DVD player, Wii game system, board games, books, and arts and crafts supplies. An Open House and 20th Anniversary Celebration will be held on November 20 at the VCU Massey Cancer Center’s Goodwin Research Lab, 401 College Street, Richmond, VA from 2-4 pm, with special remarks at 3:00. Tours of the Room of Possibilities will occur between 2-2:45 and 3:30-4:00.

Celebrity Bartender Night at Bottega’s

Come out to Bottega Bistro in the Bellegrade Shopping Center (next to Ruths Chris) on Thursday, November 19 from 6-8 pm and enjoy fabulous drinks served up by Connor's Heroes' celebrity bartenders. A portion of the bar sales will be donated to Connor's Heroes. We'll also have some great silent auction items.

Innsbrook Beer, Wine & Food Fest

On Sunday, October 18, come on out to the Innsbrook Snagajob.com Pavilion and enjoy hundreds of beer and wine from around the world. There will be fabulous food from Richmond's top chefs and restaurants too! While you eat and drink, you'll listen to live music from some of Richmond's best local talent! Admission is free and tastes, full glasses, and portions are pay as you go. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Connor's Heroes!!

Anthem Columbus Day Soccer Tournament

On Columbus Day Weekend (Saturday, October 10 - Sunday October 11th), over 250 teams of U9 to U19 boys and girls from top level recreation teams to elite/premier travel teams will compete in a Richmond Kickers tournament throughout the metropolitan area of Richmond, Virginia. Proceeds from the Anthem Columbus Day tournament will benefit Connor's Heroes.

On Track for the Cure

Come hear our great friends, The Sam Bush Band and The Waybacks on Thursday, June 11 at 7:00 pm at the Tracks at the Science Museum. Proceeds from this event will be directed to the Pediatric Cancer Research Endowment Fund that Connor's Heroes established in the Department of Pediatrics at the VCU School of Medicine and VCU Massey Cancer Center.

Anthem Stride Through Time

The Richmond Sports Backers and Anthem have partnered to provide the first ever Anthem Stride Through Time. While being healthy and active walking this 10k you’ll have a chance to explore all the history downtown Richmond has to offer. There are surprises around each turn including live music, costumed interpreters and more. It’s historical entertainment you won’t want to miss. Connor's Heroes will receive a portion of the youth registration fee from this event.
