Connor's Heroes Foundation

The Richmond Kickers Indoor of the Premier Arena Soccer League (PASL) is pleased to team up with Connor’s Heroes to host Kick Out Cancer, a charity event showcasing local youth coaches on Saturday, December 20th. The event will be held 5:00 pm-8:00 pm at SCOR, Sports Center of Richmond, and will also include games for kids, a silent auction, raffle prizes and exhibition matches highlighting teams from the Central Virginia Soccer Association (CVSA). All-Stars Charity Match

The Kickers Indoor roster features Kickers professionals Luke Vercollone and Mark Murphy as well as former Kickers pro players and coaches, Greg Simmonds, Kofi Nti and Andy McIntosh. Several amateur stand-outs return from last year’s Richmond Rowdies squad, joining new and veteran CVSA Premier League stars. Richmond Kickers Indoor recently opened their inaugural home season with a 6-4 exhibition win over rivals Fredericksburg Generals in front of a sellout crowd last weekend. With an eight-game, balanced regular season schedule set for the 2008-09 campaign, the All-Stars Charity Match will take place during the regular season break in December.

The opposition for the charity match will be a team comprised of local youth soccer coaches from the greater Richmond area representing United FC, FC Richmond, Richmond Strikers and Richmond Kickers Youth Soccer Club. Headlining the All-Stars roster are players such as Mike Burke, Leigh Cowlishaw and Rob Ukrop. Click here for the complete roster of All-Stars.

Prior to the all-stars game, CVSA clubs Lions and Fan Rats will face off and the winner is slated to meet the defending Kick Out Cancer Champions, the Pink Panthers.

Silent Auction and Raffle Prizes

A silent auction and raffle will be held throughout the event and will feature an official autographed jersey from 2008 English Premier League and UEFA Champions League winner Manchester United. Other auction and raffle prizes include an autographed DC United soccer ball, autographed Richmond Kickers jersey, Manchester United Treble Commemorative Coin Sets, autographed AFC Wimbledon jersey, autographed Chicago Fire soccer ball and many more exclusive items. These items make great, one-of-a-kind holiday gifts for soccer fans and collectors and all of the proceeds will directly benefit Connor’s Heroes.
