Heroes through Sports
In the 2008 fall season, i9 Sports reached out to Connor’s Heroes' families by providing them with some needed assistance. Each flag football team and cheerleading group from both the Henrico and Hanover County locations, compiled one backpack (26 total) to give to families with a child who has been diagnosed with cancer and is being treated at the VCU Children’s Medical Center. Some examples of items that were placed in the bags included restaurant coupons, books, puzzles, video games, and playing cards. The backpacks were intended to help families through this time of crisis and relieve some of the strain and stress during this difficult time in their lives. At the conclusion of the season, the bags were collected and delivered to Connor's Heroes. i9 Sports was glad to have the opportunity to work with such a great organization and hope we put a smile on some faces in the process.
i9 Sports is a youth sports league in the Richmond area that provides flag football, basketball and cheerleading for boys and girls between 4 and 12 years old. They teach the fundamentals of each sport while providing youth with the tools to be a better person in life as well. They value the on the field experience but even more so, they value the positive impact they have on the community as a whole. To extend their connection to the Richmond community, i9 Sports was excited to support Connor's Heroes.
