Lynchburg United Boys U12 Red Soccer Team Honor Their Coach and Children with Cancer
Congratulations to the Lynchburg United Soccer U12 Boys Red team for raising almost $1,200 in honor of their coach, John Casler. Using Connor's Heroes' First Giving page during the Anthem Colonial Cup Youth Soccer tournament, the team was able to raise money for Connor's Heroes and honor their coach. Not only a devoted father, husband and coach who loves soccer and is honored to be able to coach and teach our youth, he is a retired Naval Pilot who flew in over 23 missions in Desert Storm. John Casler is a hero to all who know him!
Coach Casler is a truly amazing person and the team is proud to have him for their coach. He was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer three years ago. Throughout the past three years while battling cancer, amazingly enough, he continued to coach travel soccer teams. Coach Casler took eleven boys and turned them into a unique and talented team. As one player talks about Coach "he has changed the way I look at soccer . . . and life. There were so many days where he was out on the field with us, sharing his passion for the game when he probably should have been resting."
Coach Casler and the LUS U12 Boys Red team are all HEROES!
