Sonja Wilkey is Running for Heroes
Sonja Wilkey loves to run!! This year, she decided to commit her addiction to running to a greater cause, that of raising money for Connor's Heroes. Working in the medical field, she sees sickness, disease, and death on a regular basis. However, the ultimate of heartache and pain is watching a young innocent child die of cancer, especially if that child is your own. Sonja understands that cancer-stricken children and their families need our help, and she's helping Connor's Heroes Foundation achieve its mission of Conquering Childhood Cancer!
Sonja will be running 2 marathons this year, starting with Boston in April, followed by Richmond in November. These marathons are her fundraising target events. By creating a donation website on First Giving ( Sonja's First Giving page), Sonja is encouraging friends, family, colleagues -- anyone -- to support her cause. Sonja is also dedicated to sharing her mission with local running clubs and fitness facilities with an ultimate goal of recruiting other running enthusiasts to join her in the quest to run with a purpose.
