When Connor’s Heroes began as a nonprofit, we couldn’t believe that Richmond did not have a research center for pediatric cancer. We decided to change that. Through tireless advocacy efforts and support from the community, we worked with the VCU Massey Cancer Center, Children’s Hospital Foundation and Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU to establish The Connor's Heroes Pediatric Cancer Research Fund. Seth Corey, MD, MPH, joined Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU (CHoR) and VCU Massey Cancer Center in October 2015 as the Chief of the Division of Hematology, Oncology and Stem Cell Transplantation. The Connor's Heroes Pediatric Cancer Research Fund funds his research efforts. Connor’s Heroes also supports the Jamie Hess Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Fund for research into chemo-resistant, high-risk leukemia.
