Haymaker Productions Inc. present…
Bruce Hornsby – Regarded as a music legend and inspiration, Bruce is returning to Virginia this summer and will play with his band, The Noisemakers.

Amos Lee – Lee’s folksy, bluesy sound utilizes the supple funk of his vocals and arid strum of his guitar while recalling the low-volume, early-’70s acoustic soul of stars like Bill Withers and Minnie Ripperton.

Gwendolyn, Marks mom, 2019 Connors Heroes Board of Directors

Welcome our new Board Members

Connor’s Heroes welcomed three members to our Board Of Directors. All are no strangers to Connor’s Heroes nor the Heroes Art Ball! Zach is a Project Manager at JLL and is heavily involved with the design of the new Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU. Marla works for MSC Industrial Supply and was a big part of our 2018 Holiday Hero campaign. Gwendolyn works for Markel and is mom to our Hero, Mark. You can see a complete list of our current Board of Directors in the About Us section of our website.

Tariq and New Day Equine Therapy - a pilot program for Connors Heroes

Equine Therapy

Connor’s Heroes is piloting a program for our childhood cancer heroes: Equine Therapy. Bruce Nachman, owner of New Day Equine in Ashland, told us about the positive effects of childhood cancer patients working with horses. First one to jump at the chance was Tariq. This brave boy overcame many obstacles in treating his brain tumor. Here he is now confidently riding a horse. We are piloting the program with other hero families. Based on Tariq’s first session, we are off on the right foot (or hoof!).

Sadie, a child helped through Connors Heroes in Richmond Virginia

Sadie and Maid Brigade

Sadie is having a great time running around her sparkling clean house. For some of our hero families, Connor’s Heroes arranges for a free house cleaning by Maid Brigade. Valerie, Sadie’s mom, said it was a relief to come home to a clean house after traveling to Philadelphia for Sadie’s treatments.
